About E.T.A.

Born from Fire...

In 2015 our amazing community came together to help each other and to help the community, pets and livestock in danger from the Butte Fire.

What started with opening the gates for a few evacuated neighbors horses quickly grew into a full scale operation as the Butte Fire exploded out of control. Laughton Ranch mobilized a huge team of volunteers to evacuate animals from the path of the fire and ultimately helped rescue over 800 animals. The team of volunteers learned on their feet and developed an impressive system for evacuation prioritization, communications, logistics, and organization to handle the chaos that followed.

Laughton Ranch received congressional recognition for what they and their team of over 1,500 volunteers did for their small community during the destruction of the Butte Fire.

ETA members are certified DSW (Disaster Service Workers) with the Amador Sheriff's office under their Search & Rescue.

We require our members to be certified in a variety of ways: FEMA, Wildland Fire and Traffic Incident Management Certifications to name a few.
