Assisted in the rescue of seized horses in Calaveras County

Calaveras County Horse Seizure

E.T.A. Evacuation Teams of Amador assisted in the rescuing of over 60 large animals on a Valley Springs property in early September. They consisted of wild stallions, mules & mares with foals.

Working in cooperation with Calaveras County Animal Control, Calaveras Consolidated Fire Protection District (Cal-Co Fire), Dr. Vicki Smalley, DVM & the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office to capture unhandled horses/mules in what turned out to be a multiple-day operation with many volunteers.

After the horses/mules were corralled and loaded into awaiting trailers they were transported to an undisclosed location.

We were honored to help in this effort.
